Frequently Asked Questions
Telehealth & Accessibility
I offer telehealth sessions. For virtual sessions, a unique session link is sent via email 24 hours before each scheduled appointment and will take you to a HIPAA-compliant virtual room.
Rates
My rate is discussed with you before the first session. You can find my current fees on the Services page.
The first session fee is charged via quickbill before we meet. Future sessions will be charged 24–48 hours after each session. I use a HIPAA-compliant program called Affinipay to make payments as hassle-free for clients as possible.
In order to make therapy more accessible to folks, I am committed to offering reduced fee spots to a minimum of 35% of my clients. Reduced fee spots start at $90 for a 55-minute session. I understand that money can be a sensitive topic of conversation; please feel free to reach out if you have questions about fees or the availability of sliding scale options.
Getting Started
Send me a message through the contact form or by email. If I have availability that suits your needs and schedule, we'll schedule a free 15-minute phone consultation. During the conversation, we'll discuss your goals and determine if it's a good fit. If we decide to proceed, we'll schedule an initial session and determine an ongoing meeting time.
Before the appointment, you will be sent an invitation from Simple Practice to complete electronic intake documents, and a quickbill from Affinipay. All of your intake documents and payment need to be completed at least 24 hours before your first session.
Insurance
I am not currently paneled with any insurance companies; however, I am able to provide you with an invoice (superbill) to send to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. I suggest that you call your insurance carrier to verify out-of-network coverage.
You will need to ask your insurance provider the following:
- Does my plan cover out-of-network providers?
- What is my out-of-network deductible and have I met it yet this year?
- What is the out-of-network reimbursement rate for billing 90837 or 90834?
Duration & Frequency of Therapy
Unless there is prior arrangement, all client sessions will take place either weekly or biweekly at a consistent day and time. All of these decisions will be made together during session as a part of treatment.
The length of our time working together depends on many factors: your goals for treatment, other factors in your life that may impact therapy, possible new areas for growth that you may discover in your work together, etc. Some clients continue for a few months, and some as long as several years. You will check in with me periodically to assess progress made and discuss when ending therapy is beneficial to you.
Cancellation Policy
Any cancellations need to be communicated to me directly via email, phone, or text at least 48 business hours before the appointment time.
Any cancellations that occur in less than 48 hours will either be rescheduled (pending availability) or you will be charged the full session fee. That said, I understand that emergencies and illness happen. To accommodate an unexpected need to cancel, I offer one free late cancel per client, per calendar year.
